License Prices
License policy
A PLANTA license is a server license, with
usage-dependent prices. Customers can choose between two license models: a
license scaled according to the number of reference objects and a
license scaled according to the number of named users.
For both license models the prices are
scaled.
The number of reference objects in the
database or the number of named users determines which scale is applied.
Dependence on the number of reference
objects
In this license model the objects differ
per function, for example
·
in PLANTA Project the objects are project tasks
·
in PLANTA Portfolio the object is the number of
projects
·
in PLANTA Request the object is the number of
requests
·
in PLANTA Sales the objects are offers and
orders
The prices for
this license model are based on the planning volume, i.e. the total number of
the activities or tasks in all projects which are to be planned at the same
time.
If additional
reference objects (tasks for PLANTA Project, projects for PLANTA Portfolio,
etc) are required, a license for a higher task volume must be purchased. If the
customer has a maintenance contract, only the difference between the license
price already paid and the price for the new task volume is charged, based on
the currently valid price list. If a maintenance contract was not concluded,
the license price for the higher task volume is charged.
In multi-user
mode, a PLANTA license can be used with exactly one server database. The following
factors do not affect the license price:
·
Number of nambed users
·
Computers used
·
Operating systems used
·
Local or remote network operation
Advantages
Experience shows
that in a project management environments there are generally a few employees
responsible for planning a project and many involved in its execution. One of
the tasks of the latter group is to report back the progress of the project.
For organizations in this situation,
PLANTA’s license policy implies:
- any number of reporters or project team
members can use the software without additional costs;
- the number of project team members can be
increased in accordance with company- or project-specific requirements;
- even project team members from other
organizations or companies who are working on the project can enter
working hours for the planned projects;
- even small software applications pay for
themselves in a short time.
Dependence on the number of named users
In this license model the license is scaled
according to the number of named users.
If additional
users are required, a license for a higher volume is to be purchased. If the
customer has a maintenance contract, only the difference between the license
price already paid and the price for the new task volume is charged, based on
the currently valid price list. If a maintenance contract was not concluded,
the license price for the higher volume is charged.
In multi-user
mode, a PLANTA license can be used with exactly one server database. The following
factors do not affect the license price:
·
Number of reference objects
·
Computers used
·
Operating systems used
·
Local or remote network operation
Advantages
This models is
recommend when having many planned objects (= reference objects) but altogether
a few users (= named users)
