Multi-Project Management
With PPMS, PLANTA offers a solution for
multi-project management, for the planning and control of several projects that
share resources or are dependent on each other in terms of content. Projects
can be grouped together across departments or areas by project portfolio, and
programs can be defined.
PPMS supports your multi-project management
through:
·
Mapping of company-wide project planning and
control, of program management and the management of project portfolios.
·
Central administration of all resource and
project data in the database. Because the resources are in a central pool,
those which are used in several projects can be planned taking into
consideration the project priorities, and resource bottlenecks can be
recognized in good time.
·
Visual representation of dependencies between
projects, for example when the completion of a task in one project is a
prerequisite for a task in another project.
·
Coordination across projects of dates, resources
and costs.
Multi-Project Manager role
The core function is to coordinate all the
individual projects in terms of the best possible achievement of the strategic
corporate objectives. A multiproject manager analyses the interactions of
projects, to identify cross-project resource conflicts and to enable
appropriate optimization measures to be initiated.
