Navigation
To track through
the pages which you have looked at on PLANTA’s website, you can use the
buttons to scroll backwards and forwards.
Search
To search
through the PLANTA website using keywords, we provide a simple search and an advanced
search.
Simple search
·
To search a page for one or more words, simply
enter the words separated by blanks.
·
To search for a particular sequence of words,
enclose the words in quotation marks, e.g. “Project management using
PPMS”.
·
If you want to find all the pages containing
terms which start with a particular sequence of letters, you can make the
search with the help of the wildcard/joker “*”. The start of the
word must contain at least 2 letters.
·
The results of the search are sorted into the
order of their relevance.
Advanced search
·
You can select the advanced search as soon as
you have carried out the simple search.
·
If there are several terms which have the same
meaning or a similar one, use an OR combination.

·
This will display all the pages on which one of
the terms is contained. Terms are entered in a similar way to the simple
search.
·
In addition, you can make a selective search for
a term using the “Exact phrase match” method.
·
It is possible to search through a complete
document, just the document title, just the document text, or just the document
URL.
·
The pages found will be displayed either by
level of agreement or by most recent date.
Other search tips
Stop words and operators
·
You can use +, -, AND, OR, and NOT operators in
the search to clearly include or exclude terms in the search:
PLANTA
+project -area
PLANTA AND
PPMS NOT report OR (+portfolio +resource)
·
By using + or -, you can determine which terms
are to appear in the hit list. The first example shows all documents that
contain 'PLANTA and 'project’ but not 'area’. You can also use AND,
OR, NOT operators to define conditions, see example 2.
·
If you enter several words without any condition
(such as AND, OR, NOT) and without (+,-) in front of each word, your entry is
treated as though there was a (+) operator in front of each word.
Wildcard search
·
Enhanced search functions are possible if you
use the symbols * and ?:
P??S
custom* OR
set*
·
Use the ? symbol in place of a single character
and the * symbol in place of any number of characters. The first example finds
all documents that contain words such as PPMS, PVPS, etc. – i.e. all the
words that start with "P" and end with "S" and that are 4
characters long. The second example finds all documents that contain the words
custom, customer, customizing, customizable, set, setter, settings, SETV, etc.
·
The wildcard symbols cannot be used as the first
character of a string.
Searching in a particular part of the
documents
·
A document consists of several parts –
information that is directly visible for the user and that which is hidden. You
can search within the whole document, the document texts, title, or URL. The
standard setting searches only in the document text:
title:"PPMS"
title:(customer
service) AND "updates"
·
The first example finds all documents that
contain the phrase 'PPMS' in the document title. The second example shows all
documents that contain “customer service” in the document title and
the phrase "updates" in the document text.
·
If you want to search for several words in the
same document title, you must prefix each word with the name followed by ':'.
Fuzzy search
·
To carry out a fuzzy search, use the
"~" symbol at the end of a word or phrase:
project~
·
The results contain words with a similar
spelling to the search term "project".
Context-related search
·
To carry out a context-related search, you also
use the "~" symbol together with a number at the end of the phrase:
"project
management"~5
·
The results contain all the cases in which the
two words "project" and "management" are a maximum of 5
words apart.
